Certified infant and child sleep consultant

For as long as I can remember, sleep has been very important to me. I was one of those who fall asleep without (major) problems, happily slept until noon and actually looked forward to sleep! When I got pregnant with my first child, sleep was one of my biggest worries - "Will he sleep?", "Will I be able to cope if he doesn't?"

And my little boy came and of course he didn't sleep :) Waking up every one or two hours became our constant until he turned one year. It seemed to me that in conversations I always encountered two extremes: children who sleep through the night from day one and those who woke up often, but there is "nothing to do". Whenever I started looking for solutions, I always came across the outdated methods of crying it out and letting the baby "Learn to fall asleep on its own", which I didn't want to do. A year passed, somehow I managed and survived and fortunately my son started to sleep better on his own.

Three years later, my girl was born. I was hoping that it would be easier the second time around and that she would be one of those babies who slept. However, we were hit by total lack of sleep and three months of 24-hour rocking of a crying baby. I knew it wasn't going to work like that, on the one hand my partner and I were barely functioning and on the other I had a sleepless, tired and miserable baby. That's when I knew there had to be a way to get some sleep and that I wouldn't have to leave my daughter in tears. And yes, it is possible. This knowledge gave me a whole new perspective on early parenting. In order to help other families have calmer, more beautiful nights (and days), I obtained a certificate. It takes a village, they say. Because I know how much it means to be a well rested parent, what it means to have a well rested child and a happy child, and how much it means to support parents, especially in these times when we no longer have "entire villages".

My philosophy

In May 2023, I obtained a certificate as an infant and child sleep consultant (at the London School of Childcare Studies). In addition to the certificate, I participated in many webinars on the topic of sleep, the postpartum period, connection and gentle parenting, and I believe that learning never stops, so I happily "devour" literature and do everything to be able to support families as comprehensively as possible. I advocate compassionate and gentle methods of changing the sleeping habits of both babies and older children. I am of the opinion that a way to better sleep can always be found, regardless of the habits and wishes of the family and regardless of whether the child sleeps in the bedroom or in his own room, whether he sleeps in his own bed or in the co-sleeping cot, if you breastfeed or not...I work with you to create a plan tailored to your family, in a way that makes your child feel safe.

I work with babies and children up to 6 years of age and can help you if you have the following problems:

- frequent night awakenings,

- awake periods at night,

-long time falling asleep/resisting sleep,

- waking up too early,

- problems with daytime sleep (naps),

-sleeping in own crib/room,

-problems with independent falling asleep and staying asleep,

-problems with daylight savings time or

-travels to other time zones (jetlag).
